Career information sessions
A free information session for those interested in a career as a health information technologist will take place at 6 p.m., July 12 at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road (Room 2139).
This seminar will showcase the college’s degree and certificate programs in this health career program. Faculty will be on hand to discuss course requirements and industry trends.
Additional upcoming sessions in July at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus include: Physical Therapist Assistant: July 16 at 4:30 p.m. (Room 1625); Medical Laboratory Technology and Phlebotomy: July 18, at 2 p.m. (Room 2737).

Luscious, Low-fat and Lightning Quick Meals (HEC E16-332) – Find out how easy it can be to prepare meals that are delicious and nutritious. Gain access to more than 50 exciting and easy recipes for tasty entrees, side dishes, desserts, and garnishes.
Start Your Own Edible Garden (BOT E14-332) – Discover how to save money and become more self-sufficient by growing a bounty of fruit and vegetables in the backyard.
Featured courses cost $114 ($75 for in-district seniors) and run from July 19 to Sept. 7.

Examining Great Explorers
Learn about amazing discoveries by enrolling in a new course offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton.
The 25 (Actually 30) Great Discoverers and Explorers (HIS C39-91) – Beginning in the 15th century, civilization benefited from the courageous efforts of explorers from across the globe who risked it all to expand our knowledge of the world. Session meets 1-2:30 p.m. July 16 at Oakton’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. Course fee is $20.
All registrants will be charged an $8 non-refundable processing fee at the time of registration. However, students who register online will only be charged once per semester for an unlimited number of courses. Those registering in person, by mail, or fax will be charged an $8 fee with each registration form.
