PET OF THE WEEK Precious is friendliness personified

Precious was given her name by the folks at the shelter where she ended up because that’s what she is – precious.
She has stolen their hearts as she will surely steal yours. This beautiful, freckled girl with a huge smile on her face is friendliness personified. She loves everyone – no exceptions!
Because of her coloring and personality, the shelter folks think she is an Australian Shepherd and Staffordshire Terrier mix. She has lovely eyes – one sparkling blue and one a deep caramel. Both look at all humans with delight and with expectations of belly rubs and lots of love.
The only dangerous part of Precious is her tail. It wags so quickly and furiously when she’s around people that small children might need to avoid it.
She also gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Of course, it’s always smart to bring your dog to meet her before finalizing any adoption. Also, she has not been cat tested so any interested family with cats should ask to have that done before visiting.
Precious is truly that “instant” dog – a girl who will fit into your home with minimal disruption. Like any dog, she’ll need a few days to get used to a new routine. And as with any new dog, it’s always a good idea to attend obedience school with her so that communication is easier.
But the important thing is that Precious is a fantastic dog. She is truly special, and her new family needs to be special, too. A family with lots and lots of love to share with her is what the rescuers are looking for.
Precious is in the process of being transferred to a local shelter group. Call Susan at (847) 354-2949 for more information about Precious and how to arrange for a visit with this adorable girl.
