North Shore Senior Center welcomes new chair and board members

At its Annual Meeting on Jan. 10, North Shore Senior Center elected Molly D’Esposito, of Northfield, as its new Board Chair. Ms. D’Esposito first joined the Board of Directors in 2006, and since that time, has served on North Shore Senior Center’s Personnel Committee and Finance Committee. She was also a co-chair for the 2009 Benefit for the House of Welcome, and worked as a weekly volunteer in North Shore Senior Center’s Lifelong Learning office. Ms. D’Esposito holds a B.A. in economics from Barat College, along with an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. In 2003, she also completed graduate-level work in the field of gerontology.

Fred Crandall, Glencoe (3-year term)
Fred works with a wide range of industries, including nonprofit, health care, financial services, insurance, hi-technology, and utilities, and is a recognized expert in compensation matters. Fred holds a Ph.D. in industrial relations from the University of Minnesota, as well as degrees from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA, and the University of California at Berkeley. He is past president of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Foundation.
Lisa Hale Crankshaw, Wilmette (3-year term)
Before the birth of her daughter in 2004, Lisa was the Assistant Business Retention Manager for London Development Agency, in London, England. Prior to that, she was the owner/managing director of Wild Rose Chocolatier, Inc. in Chicago. Lisa has an MBA from Pennsylvania State University and a B.A. in political science from State University of New York at Buffalo.
Martha K. Ferguson, Winnetka (3-year term)
A member of the House of Welcome Advisory Board, Martha has worked in management for Ohio Bell Telephone Company, and was also a self-employed photographer. She holds a B.S. in psychology from Ohio State University, specializing in mental health and geriatrics.
Muriel N. Lederer, Highland Park (3-year term)
Previously the president of Lederer Marketing Consultants, Muriel has extensive experience in marketing, public relations and journalism. She was Marketing Manager for Arthur Anderson & Co., and has been a lecturer on topics such as career education and women in business. Muriel has a B.A. in economics from Lake Forest College.
Gregg S. Neiman, Deerfield (3-year term)
With more than 30 years experience with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Gregg’s practice revolves around large life insurance transactions in the estate market. He is one of Northwestern’s top 20 all-time career producers. After two years at Trinity College in Connecticut, Gregg spent six years in the U.S. Army Reserves, and then earned a degree in economics from Northwestern University.
Joan W. Newman,
Winnetka (3-year term)
Joan is a partner with Adams Street Partners, a private equity investment management firm. As head of human resources, she is responsible for attracting, motivating and retaining high-performing employees in the firm’s offices in Europe, Asia and the U.S. Previously, Joan was a senior vice president with Bank of America. She has a B.S. in business administration from the University of California-Berkeley.
Wilma Tunick, Highland Park (3-year term)
Wilma previously owned and managed a retail /cookware store and cooking school, and also spent time selling commercial real estate. She was a co-chair for the 2011 Benefit for the House of Welcome (HOW), and serves on the HOW Advisory Board Campaign Steering Committee.
John W. Wilber, Northbrook (To Complete an Unexpired 2-Year Term)
John spent 35 years in lead sales, marketing and global corporate business development. He worked with SunGard Data Systems in Wayne, PA; Callan Associates in San Francisco; and A.G. Becker Securities in Chicago. John graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in economics, and also served in the U.S. Army for six years.
