Brickton Art Center’s 7th Annual Benefit Art Exhibition and Auction kicked off Nov. 18 with a preview of artwork donated by more than 50 artists, including local high school students.

Artists were on hand at the preview to meet guests and show their work. They included students from Maine Township High School District 207 who were invited to submit their own creations, which are being sold for a flat fee. The proceeds will go toward a scholarship fund and a scholarship will be awarded to a participating student to help further his or her art studies.

“We’re excited to have the students more involved this year,” said Kristin Haas, director of exhibitions at Brickton. “Our more recent shows have included the work of the local high school artists and we’ve received such a positive response we decided to showcase them in a professional setting.”

Bids for the auction of other work on exhibit will be accepted until until 5 p.m. Dec. 10 online at www.bricktonartcenter.org or by phone at (847) 823-6611. Each item can be viewed on the website.

A closing-night gala where auction winners will be announced and a scholarship presented will be from 7-9:30 p.m. Dec. 10. Champagne and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
