Learn to file property tax appeal Feb. 16
The village of Morton Grove will serve as host to a presentation on the homeowner Cook County property-tax appeal process.
The workshop will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16 in the Civic Center, 6140 Dempster St.
Any successful appeal will not apply to the current county property-tax bill due March 5.
Those attending the seminar should bring their property-tax bills to more efficiently file an appeal, according to Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Michael M. Cabonargi.
Cabonargi said staff from his office will be available to answer questions and help complete and submit appeal forms.
Submitting an appeal is free.
No early voting at Morton Grove Village Hall
Unlike in previous elections Morton Grove Village Hall will not serve as an early-voting location for the March 20 primary election.
Instead, those wanting to vote early may do so at Park Ridge City Hall, 505 Butler Place; Niles Village Hall, 1000 Civic Center Drive; and Skokie Village Hall, 5127 Oakton St.
Voters may cast their ballots from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Feb. 27 through March 15.
Any suburban Cook County resident wanting to vote early may do so at any location.
Anyone wanting to vote early must produce valid identification such as a current drivers license, state-issued identification card or other government-issued identification that includes a photo.
