Boys Basketball: Turner’s clutch free throws leads St. Joe’s to big win over Notre Dame
BOYS BASKETBALL: St. Joseph used an 11-0 run toward the end of the third quarter to build a slim lead Saturday night against Notre Dame, and then the Chargers sealed the game from the free-throw line in the final period. Paul Turner hit all eight of his attempts from the charity-stripe, including six in the fourth quarter, and St. Joseph claimed a 66-60 nonconference victory in Niles.

Girls Basketball: Loyd gets win, 3,000th point as Wolves top GBS
GIRLS BASKETBALL: Jewell Loyd gave her fans two huge thrills Friday. Loyd’s 42 points pushed visiting Niles West to a 52-48 overtime victory over No. 24 Glenbrook South that secured the outright CSL South championship, and her 30th point was No. 3,000 in her four-year career.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Niles West trailed by 16 points to start the fourth quarter against Glenbrook South Friday night. It took almost the entire period, but David McCoy completed an amazing rally when he hit the front end of a one-and-one with three seconds left to give the Wolves a dramatic 45-44 Central Suburban South victory in Glenview.
