MORTON GROVE — One of five candidates who filed for the April School Board election in Golf Elementary District 67 is challenging the petitions of another candidate.
Richard Toth, an incumbent board member seeking reelection on April 9, has filed an objection to petitions filed by newcomer Howard Kirschner.
If the challenge is successful the race will no longer be contested, with just four candidates remaining to fill four seats on the School Board.
The District 67 Electoral Board will hear the objections at 6:30 p.m., Jan. 10 at Golf Middle School, 9401 Waukegan Rd. in Morton Grove.
Ashwini Kumar, another current board member, is also running for reelection. Other candidates include newcomers Thomas G. Sikoral and Jeffrey S. Gwozdz.
All are running for four-year terms on the board.
Board members Meryl Gale and Mindy Kaplan, whose terms are also expiring, are not seeking reelection.~
