DUI

Richard J. Armstrong, 53, of Niles, was arrested Aug. 12 at Oakton and Caldwell after being stopped by police for traffic violations and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. A court date was scheduled for Sept. 19.

Joanne Garcia, 27, of Berwyn, was arrested Aug. 12 at Dempster and Waukegan after being stopped by police for traffic violations, and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. A court date was scheduled for Sept. 19.

BATTERY

Sarah Khan, 20, of Morton Grove, was arrested Aug. 12 on the 9200 block of North Sayre and charged with battery. Police said Khan was involved in a physical altercation with the complainant, who she allegedly pushed and punched. A court date was scheduled for Sept. 20.

OBSTRUCTING ID

Thamithy Barton, 45, of Des Plaines, was arrested Aug. 14 on the 6300 block of Dempster and charged with obstruction identification. Barton was stopped by police for traffic violations and provided officers with an ID card that belonged to someone else in an attempt to avoid arrest for driving with a revoked drivers license, according to police.

FIREARMS

David A. Conrad, 51, of Morton Grove, was arrested Aug. 11 on the 5700 block of North Capulina for allegedly firing a high-powered pellet rifle at a mosque. A court date was scheduled for Aug. 22.

DRUGS

Gabriel A. Carrillo, 18, of North Riverside, was arrested Aug. 8 on the 5700 block of Main and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. Police said an officer stopped to investigate a suspicious occupied vehicle and smelled an odor of burnt marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed suspected marijuana, eight Alprazolam pills and two morphine pills. A court date was scheduled for Sept. 19.

THEFT

A bicycle was reported stolen Aug. 7 from the 9200 block of Central. Police said an unknown offender removed the bicycle from the victim’s back yard.

A grill, grill cover and other items were reported stolen Aug. 15 from a condo building on the 8400 block of Callie.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

The window of a vacant house was reportedly broken on the 9300 block of Shermer on Aug. 11. Police said an unknown offender broke the window but did not enter the home.
