Niles Park District’s free concert series continues

The Niles Park District and the village of Niles is offering a free family-concert series at Oak Park, 7400 N. Oak Park Ave., on Friday evenings through Aug. 17, according to the village website.

“Food will be available for a nominal fee,” the website stated. “So, pack up the lawn chairs and bring the whole family to enjoy the summer sounds in the park.”

Vehicle Adventure & Soda

From 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 20, Soda presents an all–ages rock ’n’ roll show with featuring audience participation, the website stated. The Niles Park District and village of Niles will have their large vehicles on display for visitors to explore. The Niles Police Department will also offer free car-safety seat inspections by a certified technician during the concert, the website stated.

Down Home Family Fun & The White Saddle Band

From 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 27, Down Home Family Fun will be happening at Oak Park, the website stated. Children can take a pony and tractor-pulled wagon ride, and enjoy a petting farm. White Saddle Band will perform country and other musical favorites, the release stated.

Party in the Park & Sting Rays

From 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 3, a face-painter and balloon artist will entertain children while The Sting Rays will perform musical hits from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, the website stated.

The Juke Box Band

From 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 10, the Juke Box Band will perform. The band is able to play “virtually any pop tune and shift easily to classic rock, blues, country, jazz, etc. Their crowd pleasing repertoire includes hundreds of well loved tunes. The whole family will rock to the beat,” the website stated.

BBI

From 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 17 will be Niles Park District’s last concert of the season, the website stated. BBI will perform hits from the ’70s and ’80s.
